God's Open Invitation to the World

The most common verse in all of the Bible is John 3:16. Many Bible scholars and teachers have said that if the whole Bible could be summarized into one verse, it would be John 3:16. I am certainly in agreement with this statement.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  – John 3:16

Let’s break this verse down part by part to understand the salvation message for the whole world contained in this one verse:

“For God so loved  (God loves the sinner but hates the sin we possess because our sin separates us from His perfect righteousness)  the world  (everybody in the human race – me, you, every person who has ever lived),  that he  (God)  gave  (this is grace, God willingly gave something perfect in which we as sinners don’t deserve)  his only begotten Son  (the perfect, sinless Lamb of God Jesus Christ – the only human Son ever birthed by God – Jesus was literally God in the flesh who lived a perfect life, shedding His sinless, innocent blood, died on the Cross of Calvary, was buried, and rose again from the grave to conquer death and provide eternal redemption for the entire human race by paying for our sin as our substitute towards God) ,that whosoever  (open invitation to every person in the world, no one is excluded from this free will opportunity to believe)  believeth  (trust in, rest your weight upon, place your confidence in, same as possessing faith in something) in him  (Jesus Christ)  should not perish  (will never perish or be separated from God, will never suffer death in Hell),  but have everlasting life  (possesses everlasting life at the moment of belief – Everlasting Life lasts forever, so once you have it, you can never lose it, you have been passed from death unto life by your faith in Christ, God credits His perfect Son Jesus Christ’s righteousness to your account when you personally place your faith in Him, accepting Jesus as your substitute for payment of all your sins).” – John 3:16

This is the Salvation message which reconciles a sinner back to God simply by their faith in Jesus Christ’s substitutionary payment for them at the Cross of Calvary. Thank you God for your loving grace in providing your Son for our eternal redemption!

This is the most beautiful and perfect message which needs to be told to every individual! Have you placed your trust into the only sinless Savior Jesus to forgive you of your sins and give you everlasting life? God’s invitation is open to you…

The purpose of a Christian is to reproduce oneself. “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise” (Prov. 11:30).
