True Liberty is Found in Christ

True Liberty is only found in Jesus Christ!

If you were accused and arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence in your life to convict you? You need to be serving God once you have trusted Christ. It is not following a bunch of rules, but living in the law of liberty, freedom to serve God in love.

When a person trusts in Jesus Christ alone as their personal Savior, they are set free to serve God in love!

Jesus said, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:32

Some folks assume Christianity to be based on a set of rules or do’s and don’ts. This is not the basis for Christianity. True Christianity is freedom to serve in love, not a set of laws to abide by.

The Apostle Paul says, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage” - Galatians 5:1

Believers in Christ are not in bondage to abide by laws. Rather, Christians are set free to serve in love.

“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another” – Galatians 5:13

Love is an action word and to be performed by the believer in Christ through obedience towards God. We obey God by reading His Word and applying it in our daily lives.

Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” - John 14:15

The psalmist David said, “And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts” - Psalm 119:45

David was seeking to live in the law of love or law of liberty.

This new boundless freedom which believers have in Christ is such a beautiful concept to ponder!

There are 2 primary objectives to living this life. Trust in the Sinless Savior Jesus Christ alone to forgive you of your sins and set you free. And, after you have made the decision to accept Jesus’ substitutionary sacrifice for your sins (His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection), then begin to serve God by loving others. If you have love for God and love for others, you WILL be victorious in this life!

“And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.” – 1 John 3:23
