Heaven

Heaven is a real place. Heaven is the believer in Christ’s home for eternity. Jesus spoke of a literal and tangible dwelling place for believers.

Jesus said, “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” – John 14:2-3

Jesus resides with God the Father in Heaven right now as He waits for us. (see Acts 7:55-56, Heb. 1:3)

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." - 1 Peter 1:3-5

There are 3 levels of Heaven spoken of in Scripture. There is the skies, clouds, and atmosphere (1^st Heaven), outer space (2^nd Heaven), and the place where God the Father and Christ sit in the furthest Northern point (3^rd Heaven). (see 2 Cor. 12:2) Heaven is described as residing in the North in the Bible (see Lev. 1:11, Psa. 48:1-2, Isa. 14:12-14).

“He (God) stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.” – Job 26:7

Scientists have proven that there is a void in the North of space where no stars exist. Could it be this is a glimpse of the 3^rd Heaven where God resides? Of course, this is only speculation, but we know Heaven exists.

There is a Heavenly city God describes throughout the Bible. This is the New Jerusalem which will orbit over the New Earth one day.

“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.” – Psalm 48:1-2

“But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels.” – Hebrews 12:22

We are told that Abraham was actually looking for this New Jerusalem, the Heavenly city of God.

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” – Hebrews 11:8-10

The Apostle John also speaks of the Heavenly city of God (the New Jerusalem), claiming he viewed it with his very own eyes.

“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.” – Revelation 21:2, 10

Believers in Christ are literally citizens of Heaven right now!  This is a reality to rejoice in!

“For our conversation (citizenship) is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 3:20

“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.” – Ephesians 2:6, 19

Revelation chapter 21 and 22 explain that a New Heaven and New Earth will be created, providing details with literal dimensions and aspects of the New Jerusalem Heavenly city which will orbit the New Earth. What an amazing truth to lay hold of; every believer’s New Home for all eternity.

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God. Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald. The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever: And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.” – Revelation 21:1-5, 10-27, 22:1-3, 5-6

Heaven awaits the believer in Christ! This Heavenly City will orbit the New Earth. Believers will be able to experience the New Heavens and New Earth, while also having a home to dwell inside of the New Jerusalem. The New Jerusalem Heavenly City described above is a cube shape, which is approximately 1500 miles on every side and from top to bottom. This is a very large Heavenly city! God will be the light of the city so no need for a sun any longer. We will eat and refresh ourselves for pleasure, but there will never be any more pain, indigestion, or discomfort. The city and streets are pure gold appearing as transparent glass. There is a river of life, crystal clear and pleasurable to drink from, as well as fruit from the tree of life to eat from. No more problems and no more troubles; just praise to God for all eternity. All questions will be answered, and God and man will be reconciled together forever.



Do you want to live in Heaven forever when you die and experience the New Heavens, New Earth, and New Heavenly City of Jerusalem which God has prepared for His children?  You can be born into the family of God by placing your faith in Jesus as Savior (see John 1:12, Gal. 3:26)

In order to know for sure that you are on your way to Heaven, place your complete trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Jesus shed His sinless blood, died on the Cross of Calvary to pay your sin debt (all sins - past, present, and future sins). He rose from grave 3 days later just as He predicted to conquer death for you. If you place your trust in Him as your substitute payment to God, He will forgive you of all your sins and provide you everlasting life at that moment of faith. You will be given this New Home in Heaven the moment you trust Christ. Don’t delay, trust Christ today!
