Have you received the Gift of Salvation?

Salvation from God is a Gift which one must receive by faith.

Salvation from God is being delivered or rescued from our sins.  Our sins separate us from a Holy and Righteous God.  In order to be eligible for Heaven, one must be perfect (Psa. 19:7, Matt. 5:48, Rev. 21:27), as no sin will enter into a perfect Heaven.  Unfortunately, we all fall short of God's perfection, but God has provided a way through His Son Jesus Christ's perfect sacrifice as the payment for sins.

Salvation is always presented as a gift from God in the Scriptures. (John 4:10, Rom. 5:15-18, Eph. 2:8)

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Now the gifts in human affairs can sometimes be retracted, but the Scriptures tell us that the gifts of God are irrevocable (Rom. 11:29). Knowing God's gifts can never be taken back is something to rejoice in!  This is eternal security.

In order to accept the gift of salvation from God, one must receive it by faith in Jesus' sacrifice for sins (His sinless shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection as the complete payment for one's sins).

We must realize also that a gift can only be received.  If one was to work for or attempt to earn a gift then it would not be a gift any longer, because then it would be earned or purchased.

Salvation is by God's grace (unmerited and undeserved favor by God), through our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." - Eph. 2:8-9

"Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." - Gal. 1:3-5

Have you received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?  Have you received the free gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ?

"But as many as received him (Jesus Christ), to them gave he (God) power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." - John 1:12-13

The purpose of a Christian is to reproduce oneself. “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise” (Prov. 11:30).
