Are You Completely Yielded to God?

Are you honest and truthful? Are you faithful? Is your life pure to God’s expectations? Are you dedicated to God?

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.” – 2 Timothy 2:19-21

The great evangelist D. L. Moody heard a man say, “the world has never seen what God can do with a believer who is fully and completely yielded to Him.”

The Christian life is a journey. It is a daily yieldingness to God. It can be thought of by following Biblical principles such as these:

Love - Love God and others by conscious service. Love should trickle down and motivate you to perform all these Christian principles.  Love is an action word which drives you to care passionately about the whole world (lost and saved). (Matthew 22:36-40)

Fellowship - fellowship can be thought of "as two or more fellows in a ship going the same way, thinking the same way, and performing the same task in unison." Fellowship with other like-minded believers for accountability and encouragement (Heb. 10:25)

Evangelism - witnessing to the lost/proclaiming the Gospel message of Jesus Christ (the sinless shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection of Christ which saves sinners who put their personal faith in Jesus' substitute sacrifice for one's sins) (Mark 16:15, Romans 10:15, 1 Thessalonians 2:4)

Bible study - reading God’s Word daily and applying its principles (Matthew 4:4, Acts 17:11, 2 Timothy 2:15)

Prayer - talking with God daily about every instance of life (Luke 18:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Praising God – This area is often neglected but it should not be. Read the Psalms of David and see how much praise, adoration, and worship to God was given. The Providence of God is God working behind the scenes and it should be acknowledged. Praising God is recognizing God’s influence and interaction in your life (Psalm 71:14, Hebrews 13:15)

Self-denial - not looking at your own ability and desires but focusing on God’s ability to work through you to produce His Holy desires. Practice self-denial and God-approval. (Matthew 16:24-27)

Renewing the inward-man/ your new nature - daily walking in the Holy Spirit, being filled with the Spirit of God by applying His Word to transform your life.  Applying the fruit of the Spirit in your life. (Psalm 27:14, Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 4:16, Ephesians 5:18, Galatians 5:13-26)

Daily alertness - looking for opportunities to glorify God each and every day, being aware that the Providence of God is around all the time, and our mind should be transformed to Christ's mind on pleasing God all the time in thought, word, and action. (Proverbs 8:24, Matthew 26:40-46, Rom. 12:1-3, Phil. 2:4-5)

The purpose of a Christian is to reproduce oneself. “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise” (Prov. 11:30).
